Antique Divided Back 1909 PC of A CHILD STEREOTYPICALLY DRESSED As A MAN, Complete With a TOP HAT, CANE, and CIGAR and Wearing Around His Neck a Pendant With the SQUARE AND COMPASS ROUND MASONIC AUTO EMBLEM. FREEMASONRY or MASONRY has its roots in the 13th Century local guilds of STONEMASONS who regulated their qualifications and interactions with authorities and clients. See last photo for various theories on what the letter “G” symbolizes in Freemasonry. This postcard is part of the “American Post Card SEPIA GRAVURE Series” as it says on the back. Card is postally unused. Standard size 5.5” x 3.5”. The artist is named BERNHARDT WALL who was a prolific lithographic illustrator with common works focusing on comic cards, western themes, and Cowboys and Indians. He was referred to as the “Postcard King”. In good condition according to postcard rating system with sharp corners except for the lower left which is mildly worn and brown discoloration along the right edge and in the upper right corner of the postcard. Some of this same browning is on the back of the card too. This is a mostly SEPIA toned card, so the browning really does not show up much at all and is not detrimental to the overall great appearance of this card in my opinion.
