    Description

    I have for sale a 1938 Golden Anniversary Plaque for the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States awarded to Miss M. Dargis.  The plaque looks to be in original condition.  The plaque is a gold colored plate attached to a black piece of wood.  The plate is 4 by 6 inches and the wood is 5 1/4 by 7 3/8 inches.  At the top of the plate it reads GOLDEN - ANNIVERSARY - AMATEUR  ATHLETIC UNION - OF THE UNITED STATES.  It then has a round A.A.U, symbol, inside a wreath, with the years 1888 - 1938 & a torch to each side.  It then reads COMMEMORATING - THE - FIFTIETH  ANNIVERSARY and engraved MISS M. DARGIS.  Listed down both sides are the people who served as president of the A.A.U. and their dates of service.  On the hanger it has the makers name Dieges & Clust, New York.  This plaque also comes with the original box.  Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables.  (17,584)
